Follow your running plan in Apple’s Workout app
Plan your running week in V.Runner on iPhone, then follow your prepared sessions on Apple Watch. The session contains the running steps and guidance prepared by V.Runner. You use Apple’s built-in Workout app; there is no separate V.Runner Watch app to install.
What you need
- A compatible iPhone with iOS 17 or later and a paired Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later.
- A prepared running week in V.Runner and permission to schedule workouts.
- Apple Health access to read completed runs back into V.Runner.
Workout syncing and Apple Health access are separate permissions. This guide covers the iPhone and Apple Watch workflow. Controls can differ between beta builds.
From your plan to your run
- Prepare on iPhone. Open Training in V.Runner and use the Watch button to review the sessions you want to send. Allow Apple’s workout-syncing request when prompted.
- Send and check. Send the week, keep your Watch connected and check the sessions in Apple’s Workout app on the Watch before heading out.
- Follow your session. Start the prepared workout in Apple’s Workout app and follow its running steps and pace targets. Targets are prepared before the run; V.Runner does not rewrite them live while you run.
- Review afterward. With Apple Health access, V.Runner reads your completed runs and tries to match them to planned sessions. Add your post-run feedback to help inform future training.
What “Queued on iPhone” means
A successful send schedules the workouts on your iPhone. It does not confirm they have arrived on your Watch. Apple controls delivery and provides no arrival estimate or delivery confirmation to V.Runner. Check Workout on the Watch itself; the planned run date is not a delivery confirmation.
If a workout is missing
- Check that the Watch is paired to this iPhone, awake and connected nearby.
- Check V.Runner’s workout-syncing permission in Workout’s Connected Apps settings.
- Look for upcoming sessions as well as today’s workout in Apple’s Workout app.
- Review the send status in V.Runner. Retry failed workouts or use Re-send this week.
Scheduling errors and the visible scheduling window can depend on your devices and system versions. If a session is still missing, contact support with your beta build and iPhone/Watch software versions.

When your week changes
Review changes in V.Runner, then send the updated week to Watch again. Sending replaces V.Runner’s previously sent sessions rather than merging another copy into the schedule. A locked week keeps its planned sessions steady; review its lock state before expecting the plan to change. This is a planning control, not your iPhone’s screen lock.
Watch transfers are included in the current week’s training access, with no extra credit charge for sending again. See the free weeks and planned-run credits.
